I would like to share my experience of traveling with the much hyped "Kingfisher" Airlines. Now days, with MP you can manipulate the public perception of a product or service. If you folks thought, I am referring to Member of Parliament, you are wrong, I was referring to the Money Power, yes the Money Power, that could unleash a wave of propaganda about a service and try to create a sensation, where as reality could be totally different.
Let me analyze few areas of their service...
Food
Let us talk of the food served in the Kingfisher Airlines, invariably to hoodwink the traveling masses it would be named in a hi-funda manner, again with an idea to manipulate the minds of traveling public. But in reality, the quality of food is worst. You ask for Non-Veg, the Air hostess gives you a Veg Plate, When you point out the error, she comes back after some time and give you the same Veg Plate, without even caring to inform you that they have run out of Non-veg packs.
In another flight, when you ask for Non-veg, they give you Veg pack, when you insist for Non-veg, in a very crude manner give you a stale mini pack of Non-veg curry the bad taste of which lasted in my mouth for few weeks. I feel they wanted to punish the "guest" for making them uncomfortable by asking from them a pack, which they had already exhausted due to their poor planning.
Now lets see whats the menu offered by them in a flight:-
Pineapple & Cabbage Slaw - Only garnished cabbage seen in the bowl, the cheapest vegetable available in the market which do create lot of volume when garnished and I am pretty sure not more than four cabbage would be required to cater the whole flight.
Kalimiri Paneer Pudina - Sounds hi-funda, in effect you will find few chunks of paneer in a gravy which neither has salt or spices. After tasting, you feel not to try any further.
Subz Dum Biryani - Name may sound dashing, but in effect has no dum, made of ordinary par boiled rice with few pieces of beans in it.
Thikri Ki Dal - Peak of the naming game, a useless dal dish which you will not relish at all. On the contrary a day before on Jet Airways flight they served an excellent Dal dish, just with this comparison alone one could feel who is the real king.
Roti - Stale ones.
On the comparison, the food served at Jet, Indian & Sahara is of a much better quality. Though they may not be hi sounding, but would be a better tasting one. Nor there would be a shortage, which is a regular feature with the King.
Customer Service
They call the passengers as "Guest" again treating your ears. But in essence its a lip service, by rolling out pretty girls on the flight does not make goods service, you need professionals, who are trained to treat the passengers like guest, if you really mean it. There is a tinge of arrogance in most of the in-flight crew and customers are served grudgingly. This is quite apparent in their body language.
*In-flight entertainment
*What you get is few chanels from the DISH TV, the picture and sound is of a poor quality. Only useful thing is the flight tracking system. Otherwise there is no real entertainment....
Hope they improve there service quality and work on their weak areas to provide the real quality service expected from a KING...
