Nothing to do on a sunday afternoon ...so thought that will go and see Kisna. Well... that was the first mistake....oops blunder !!! From the maker of good movies like Pardes and Taal, Kisna is a show (if at all there was one in this ) stopper !!! Vivek oberois acting is appreciable, Ishas dancing skills are superb and Antonio is cute. But the story line requires a good overhauling. Most of the second half is a bubblegum - stretch, stretch and stretch. Only the song hum hain iss pal yahan is catchy. A R Rahman and Ismail Darbar can deliver (and they have delivered ) much better than that.
The story in a nutshell, is of a person (Vivek) who does his duty promptly (when he gets time off blowing his flute). His fiancee (Isha) breaks into a dance at the drop of a hat (infact she starts dancing as soon as she knows that the hat is about to be dropped...) . Then there is this British girl ( Antonio ) who keeps getting lost from all and sundry.
When the going really gets tough and they are hiding from extremists, she breaks into a song and dance sequence !!! Another good thing about the movie is the locale - the lovely Uttaranchal esp the Tehri Garhwal region.
Entirely shot in the hills of Dev Prayag - the place of the confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirath to become the holy Ganges. With such a cast and locale, a better storyline would definitely have given Subash Ghai a super hit. BTW, he maintains his reputation of giving in a guest appearance - albeit at the very end of the movie :)
