First, I watched movie kite runner & was amazed by its screenplay so, I thought of reading Kite runner book. The Kite runner is written by Khaled Hosseini, who was born in Afghanistan.
The main protaganist in kite runner is Amir’s character. It is depicting Amir’s story from childhood to middle age.The title kite runner is attributed to Hasan , Amir’s friend.
It has varied themes such as friendship, betrayal, anger, kinship, love, war, terrorism, father son relationship, male rape, traumatise childhood, humanity & so on.More importantly novel is like connecting dot.
Novel has vivid description of places , events , people.The description of steep roads of san francisco is one such example.
Novel potrays Afghanistan’s political as well as social scenerio during bahdurshah regime , then under soviet union & then under taliban.I felt writer maintains balance while writting as, it has many themes, round character, events , phase till conveys message. Novel creates urge to know more about Afghanistan country, there culture , there decline, taliban rule.
