First of all, I can’t believe movie is directed by Anurag Basu, Its completely of Rakesh roshan kind of stuff.
I won’t go in much detail but I am disappointed by Hrithiik not because of his acting at all but why he choose such movie which got no script at all. People on air are talking about action scenes , how much they spend on this and that but when you see , atleast for me they were like watching some action scenes from tv serial Prison Break.
Oops forgot about Barbara yes chemistry between the lead pair looks good, but when camera comes for close shots that time Barbara looks too old.About acting kites flies just because of Hrithik whether about its screen presence or acting , he is the only thing in whole movie . And unfortunately kangana got only few scenes but those few are enough to tell who is better actress Mexican or Indian.
In summary, I will say yes go for Kites just for Hrithik. Otherwise there is nothing in the movie which one can say is mind blowing and like to remember. The only twist is climax but that also becomes almost predictable if you watch lot of movies not hindi I mean to say world cinema.
As far I think went wrong with kites is the combo of Rakesh Roshan who makes masala bollywood films and Anurag Basu who has given with Bhatt camp some outstanding out of box kind of stuff. So when these type of 2 different minds come together movie will be like this only. Most of the part you will find Rakesh Roshan shades only here and there Anurag comes to somehow lift up the movie. If hollywood see this movie they will notice only one thing that is HRITHIK, unfortunately Anurag’s potential won’t get noticed. Movie I am pretty damn sure will not recover its price, Reliance, or big pictures will lose , now they have to wait for Ravaan.
