The misfortune began when I had to book my tickets with KLM this time due to non availability of tickets with any other airlines. As usual the punctuality was tortured when my flight took off 1.5 hrs behind the schedule and the the rude crew members gave me a bad time.
Once I reached Amsterdam then I was told that I have to travel from Amsterdam to Mumbai on north western airlines as they are their partners. I boarded the flight and landed in Mumbai as scheduled, but the shock ran my nerves when I saw my checked in baggage at Mumbai Airport.
I was astonished to see the lock in my baggage as broken and all the major stuff was missing. Not only the brand new camera and two new Swiss watches were missing but also the stuff like my shoes, jeans and handbags were missing.Somebody broke into my luggage and stole all the stuff and also enjoyed the feast on the most expensive Swiss chocolates like Sprungli and Lindt which I bought for 38 CHF per pack and there were 5 such packets.
The personnel at the airport were so unhelpful that they did not even listened to the damage happened to me and only took the complaint and did not listed the exact things lost.Then after that I haven’t received any call from their side for next two days to at least enquire about the situation and when I wrote them the mail telling them about the agony I faced then they said they tried reaching me on my cell but it was switched off.
This is the most unacceptable answer as I was in continuous touch with others on the same number.Now the claim which they are offering me in lieu of my baggage is just 118 USD. The things which I lost are worth more than 1000 Swiss Francs. They say that electronics were not insured so the camera worth 350 francs and watches worth 280 francs are gone. Rest of the things which include Versace Designer ladies handbag, pair of Geox shoes, two pair of Guess Jeans and at least 200 francs of chocolates are valued by their staff for USD 118. I feel ashamed of this that they consider my stuff as scrap and valuing the material as scrap by valuing it on weight.
Dont they know the normal things that designer handbags and shoes are of muh more worth. The valuation in weight does not take into consideration that the lighter the shoes, more expensive they are. Or they don’t know that Swiss chocolates are as expensive as 35 framcs per packet.This travel of mine has posed severe mental trauma to me and also the material loss.I would request all of you to please consider at least 50 times before travelling with them, otherwise you can suffer extreme monetary and mental losses.The most dissatisfied customer of KLM.
