.... when I woke up! This nightmare which made its debut yesterday night was sponsored and brought to you(me) by Knorr Annapurna Soupy Snax!
Heard of it? Rather, did u watch its ad by any chance on the idiot box? The one where the secy evilly dreams about spearing her boss with a bunch of really sharp pencils? That was ok. But frankly, the actual product, the soupy snax thing.....SUCKS!
Ok, this soupy snax thing is actually a ready to make soup. Its got some tidbits like pieces of carrots and croutons in it. To make it
you have to empty the powder sachet in a mug and pour boiling water on it, and your soup’s ready to eat. Ready to eat if you actually eat such tasteless stuff.
The description on the packet says: A delicious hot snack. Savour the aroma and enjoy the exciting taste as you sip and munch.
So after conducting its post mortem, I have come to the conclusion that:
There’s no trace of any deliciousness in it. There’s only the aroma.
There’s a very very minuscule amount of munchies in it, so you go more like : Sip, sip, sip, sip, munch, sip, sip, sip!
The soup in itself looks like some gravy, its not even a liquid, its a suspension. And this is what I hate about these desi soups, they taste and look more like gravy/curry than soup!
Its got no salt in it, you have to add the salt urself, so technically, its not totally ready to eat. And its sooo HOT and that even radio mirchi ko sharam aa jaye. I guess the people at annapurna thought that you can make anything tasty just by adding mirchi!!
And I had two flavours from 2 different sachets , so I know that its not a particular flavour thats bad, all the flavours are equally unpalatable!
I used to make those Knorr soups for myself, when the knorr people hadn’t tied up with Annapurna, and I used to LOVE those! They tasted like real soup!
I dunno what to do with the 2 other sachets I have with me already, I can’t give them to my friends, after all, I can’t have them cursing me for the rest of their lives.....
So, bottom line, BEWARE OF THE SLOPPY SNAX.
