Dealing with menopause

Now menopause can be managed effectively.One has only to be prepared mentally well in advance.Menopause is a very natural process.One need not be scared of it.around 45 of age, due to the diminishing oestrogen hormones, menstruation stops in women and the ovaries stop producing eggs.This state is called menopause.The prospect of ageing strikes women tremendously and it leaves a definite scar on her mental, psychological and physical makeup.Psychologically menopause starts hurting a women because she thinks she has become’dry’, ’exhausted’ and useless in society.Menopause brings with it low esteem and a series of distressing disorder.


We should tackle menopause in the following way-


1)Hormonal Replacement Therapy(HRT)

It is the best treatment for overcoming oestrogen deficiency.In this therapy oestrogen can be imbibed additionally in different forms such as oral tablet, injectables, gels and creams.It should be practised under expert guidance as it can have side effects such as weight gain, irregular bleeding, nausea, vomitting and chest pain.


2)Naturotherapy

It should also be given a chance because nature is a dynamic force which has magical but simple cures for many ailments.A women undergoing menopause should change her lifestyle for better.This involves stress management, taking up hobbies according to personal choice, by giving special attention to diet and adjusting calorie intake according to one’s daily activities.The diet should be supplemented with a lot of proteins together with other minerals and multi-vitamins, especially calcium and iron to prevent anaemia.Besides tea, coffee and aerated drinks, tobacco consumption, drinking alcohol and smoking should be minimised or entirely given up.Exercise will also help.Yogic exercise helps tremendously in relaxing the body and mind.


A little knowledge and awareness can be coordinated together to maintain complete health and fitness.


If menopause is understood properly it can be managed and life can be enjoyed even beyond 50 years of age.
