I had recently visited kodai, after a long time. Hoping that things would have changed. There was a talk of the world bank stepping in to save Kodai.
But to my dissapointment, the only thing that has changed is that most of the small shops that built for a living are gone.
As usuall the rich people still screw up the place and the poor have to the pay the price for it. Like the chairmans house which is right next to the lake is forever increasing in size. It was just a small house when I saw it first. Now its a huge single storied house. No one to question that. But the small shops around the lake are removed.
The place is getting worse by the year. More and more concrete structures coming up. Rocky Slopes being blasted, trees cut down, air is polluted. Trees whish stood there for hundreds of years, no longer survive. Now stand concrete multi-storied buildings of proud yet STUPID landlords. Places where I spent hours just sitting and admiring its beauty no longer exists. Barbed Wires and concert walls stop me from going to places where I spent my half my life.
I could probably write more on how I feel, but I see no point.
There is nothing left in kodai to see.
