I went for a south trip last diwali, with my family. I went to RAMESHWARAM, KANYAKUMARI. After that I came to Madurai city and from there, we hired a vehicle and went to Kodaikanal.
There are so many sightseeing like suicide point, garden and for shopping stalls are also there.
And at kodaikanal there is walkway it is very wonderful, and at kodaikanal very natural and herbal products available.
If I say about hotels and restaurants, it is to costly. Yes there is safety but not very good.
