A real VFM camera

I have been using the kodak C140 for about 1-1.5 years now. I had bought it at the price of Rs.6k, but now, I guess, the price has come down to nearly 4k. only thing tat I can say is tat for those who don’t want to spend too much for a camera, this is the best option! I have used many cybershot cameras from Sony, but I personally feel that kodak’s image quality is much better than Sony’s!(but this is my personal opinion! no harm). I don’t know why Sony puts a heavy price tag for it’s cameras even though they have less features than many cameras in the market.

coming back to the camera-

  1. the image quality is the best that u can expect from a basic VFM camera

  2. features provided are adequate

  3. believe me or not, this camera can do manual focussing(but you have to know the trick). and by manual focussing, I mean within the focus level of the camera

  4. auto focus is not so gr8! but these are the places where manual focussing comes handy(again dependent on user)

  5. flash is pretty bright- nothing gr8 and nothin worse- just normal

  6. the camera is easy to hold. but a bit on the heavier side!

  7. the inbuilt editing features like rotating, cropping, etc are useful

  8. the share button can be used to upload photos once it is connected to the computer

  9. the quality of buttons is above par

  10. the shutter speed is normal(but again, a gr8 VFM)

  11. changing settings are easy. u can come to know all the features of the camera if u use it for just 1-2 hours

  12. the3x optical zoom is sufficient but the quality does decrease when pictures are taken at full optical zoom(don’t ask me about digital zoom, u won’t find any image in it at all! but this is common in all the cameras. including SLRs and camcorders!)

  13. the main disadvantage of this camera is that there is no provision to plug this camera into a power socket! the source of power is only the two AA batteries tat go into it! if u run out of battery power, u have no other choice than buyin new ones or recharging the current ones! if not, u can’t take photos:(

wrapping up the review, i’d say that, for the first-time buyers and for people on a very tight budget, this is the best VFM camera one can buy!
