Buy this Prosumer for the following reasons After extensive research & reading great many reviews from many websites I have come to the conclusion that Kodak Z650 Mega zoom Prosumer Digital Camera makes more sense than it’s more expensive rivals. I will give 2 main reasons why you should buy this product IF you are on a budget and also want to get a great Prosumer Camera before you move onto a Digital SLR in a couple of years time. I will compare the Kodak Z650 with Cannon S2 Is or Sony DSC I to make my point.
However I would like to caution readers that Cannon S2Is & Sony DSC H1 are GREAT products & are in no way inferior to Kodak Z650. Having said that they are a bit expensive (Cannon is way too expensive) for the features that they are offering. If you are planning on buying a good Prosumer Digital Camera with 10X (or more) optical zoom and are considering between Kodak Z650, Cannon S2 IS or Sony DSC H1, look not further than Kodak Z650 because: 1. Kodak Z650 (6 Mega Pixels) costs just 19500/- including 1 GB SD memory card, Lens adapter, 4 Ni-Mh batteries & a charger. Now compare that with Cannon S2 Is (5 Mega Pixels only, NO bundled memory card, NO lens adapter, NO charger NO batteries) which is Rs.32500. (If you add 1GB memory card + batteries + charger Cannon will set you back by almost another Rs.4000 bringing the total cost to Rs.35500/- Sony DSC H1 (5 mega Pixels only, lens adapter, NO bundled memory card, NO charger or batteries) which costs Rs.25000 (If you add 1 GB memory card + batteries + charger Sony will set you back by almost another Rs.3000 bringing the total cost to Rs.28000/- 2.
Agreed that Cannon & Sony come with 12X optical (whereas Kodak is giving 10Xoptical) but look at the price tag, it is almost half the price of Cannon. So you can use the money that you would otherwise spend on Cannon and buy additional lenses for Kodak such as wide angle lens Rs.1500 + close-up lens Rs.1500+ telephoto lensRs.4000, neutral density lens Rs.2000, polarizer lens Rs.1000, UV filter Rs.1000 & a Tripod Rs.1000 (Kodak Z650 does not have optical image stabilization so you need a Tripod). With all those amazing add-on lenses it will cost just as much a Cannon S2 Is would cost. Once you add those lenses to your Kodak Z650 WITH THE MONEY YOU HAVE SAVED INSTEAD OF BUYING a MORE EXPENSIVE PROSUMER CAMERA you get an amazingly powerful camera that will far surpass both Sony & Cannon Prosumers, ALL FOR AROUND Rs.31000/- only now compare that with what the other 2 cameras have to offer and make your decision.
