Heyy friends,
Some of my dear readers must have understood that I’m a great Shahrukh Khan fan! Two of my reviews are written on SRK mainly. One on ’’King Khan rules...’’ and another is of course ’’Veer-Zaara’’. But I assure you that in case of film, I always try to be unbiased, honestly. I felt soooooo happy when MS accepted my request and I got the pleasure to write the first review on this Karan Johar Show ’’Koffee with Karan’’...yahh the debut show of course!!
Shahrukh and Kajol......................
Yahhh, again after K3G!!
I was highly excited to see them with Karan Johar in ’’Koffee with Karan’’ on Star Plus last night. Sensational Shahrukh and ever loving Kajol just amazed me as usual.
::::::KAJOL....SIMPLE BUT STUNNING BEAUTY::::::
Kajol was looking gorgeous with that black saree with a hot-cut blouse!! Her simple yet attractive look was there pleasing us all the time. Certainly while with Karan, a good friend, Kajol was so easy and comfortable. None of her words or expressions were artificial. With her no make-up look she looked so vibrant that I remembered Kajol in ’’Kuch kuch hota hai’’.
:::::::::SHAHRUKH.....PASSIONATE EYES AND CONFIDENT LOOK::::::::::::
Oh, SRK, as he is, always very very confident and conscious about his presence. Though it was a show of his dear friend Karan yet he looked very professional as expected. He has a good dressing sense, thus he always wears the best outfits possible. Though personally I prefer him in black...kya kare!! Shahrukh is not a ’’Good looking’’ actor but he is extremely handsome.
:::::::KARAN JOHAR......THE SHOWMAN::::::::::::::::::
I’ve always liked Karan for his politeness and skills. Though this is the first time I’ve seen him as an anchor yet I’d say that he does not posses all those skills an anchor needs. I might be wrong but in yesterday’s show, he could not perform well. Specially the ’’Rapid fire’’ round was a mess. A perfect anchor could make it more interesting and well mannered. It was more like a friendly chat within three friends than a TV show for thousands of people allover the world. This has disappointed me a little. I wish Karan will do better with the coming episodes.
:::::::::::THE SHOW............IT’S DIFFERENT::::::::::::::::::::
Manish Malhotra is very famous with his ’’The Manish Malhotra Show’’ on ’’Zoom’’, now our young Director Karan could make it bigger than him. This is a very normal show with celebrities but the USP of this show is, Karan will bring famous celeb pairs of Bollywood to have a cup of coffee with him on every Friday night. Resources say that Karan is going to surprise us by inviting Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor, Aishwarya and Sanjay Leela Bansali, Gauri Khan and Suzanne Roshan, Sanjay Dutt and Sushmita Sen to Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta.......and more like them. The uniqueness lies in selecting the pairs as they are not filmi-pairs, nor husband-wife, not even rivals or competitors. They are really different yet a celeb-combo. That’s simply great!!!!
:::::::::IMPRESSIVE SET DESIGN......SOFAS & COFFEE RACKS::::::::::::::
The set design is really good. After the show Shahrukh and Kajol put their Coffee cups with autographs on a rack. That was simply an innovative idea. Base colour is blue and soothing to your eyes. With the staircase they have added a personal touch to this show. Blue autographed coffee cups are actually prizes. If you are a die heart fan of SRK/Kajol you can try your luck!! (I’ll tell you later, how to!!)
:::::::::HERE COMES SRK - KAJOL - KARAN TOGETHER::::::::::::
It has really been long enough since we have seen these three together. Karan chatted with them in a very casual manner. The most interesting part is the ’’Rapid Fire’’ round where the guests are supposed to answer very fast.
He started with Kajol as ’’Ladies first’’. Whatever tricky question he asked he, she either did not reply or took long long time before uttering the right word. But in some cases she was highly spontaneous like ’’Who is the sexiest actor, Ajay or Shahrukh?’’
Before Karan stops she said ’’AJAY!!!’’
Then one more interesting question was,
’’Which actor could be the worst PM of India’’
She smiled and promptly replied ’’GOVINDA’’!!!!!!!
It was so apt that Karan started laughing, too. Then there were choices between two actors, two actress etc. That part was ok with her. Whenever Karan took someone else’s name with AJAY, Kajol invariably shouted with ’’AJAY’’ ’’AJAY’’. Hope Ajay watched the show, too.
Karan said, he was very disappointed with her and started asking SRK. Well, SRK was better in answering as he was trying give his professional touch, though most of the times he could not. This happened because Karan is his friend after all!!
One question was to choose between Aisharya and Sushmita among actresses. Clever SRK said,
’’Both?!’’
While choosing between ’’GOURI’’( his wife) and ’’ARYAN’’( his son) he chose ’’ARYAN’’.
There was a ’’goody bag’’ to win after this round. Unfortunately none of them won that. According to Karan both of them performed too bad. Then what’s next? After the break they finished their coffee and chat with Karan. It was almost like a Sunday evening’s tit-bit among friends.
But the show was good. It was enchanting to see these three together in such an original mood. There was not much artificiality amongst these celebs.
