INSTANT NOODLES that too chosen by a doctor himself ? Does sound weird, isnt it ? But I just cant stop myself for writting a review for this fantastic product avaliable on the shelf of the Indian organised retailers(BIG BAZAAR, RELIANCE, SPENCER, EASYDAY).I am always on the lookout for something new in the market so I always make it a point to try new flavours and cuisins on my holiday.I happen to visit RELIANCE SUPERMART in my locality this sunday, and came across this new kid on the block named KOKA NOODLES (MADE IN SINGAPORE) not in china.Starting with the review let me tell you whats the buzz is all about, very quickly n ofcourse in short, crispy n tangy way:-
Packaging:- These noodles are packed hygenically in a poly packing just like our desi counterparts maggies, foodles, knoor etc.Cooking instructions , name of importer, date of packaging, expiry date & address of the manufacturing facility , nutritional information are clearly mentioned. One of the things which is do missing is that the indicator for the veg and non veg is not there as required in India.A green or a brown dot in a box indicating the item is veg or non veg.
Price:- They are to be imported from singapore and that adds to the cost , hence it is priced on the upward scale of Indian noodles.A packet is going to cost you around 22 INR, if some launching scheme is going on then expect a discount of 4 to 6 INR on MRP.
Avalibility:- These noodles are avaliable at all supermarkets like RELIANCE FRESH, FOOD BAZAAR etc
Flavours:-Now this gets interesting, I had never ever dreamt of tasting flavours like LOBSTERS, CRAB, FISH, TOM YAM, STIR FRY, CHICKEN, TOMATO, PRAWN, BEEF, LAKSA.A total of 13 different flavours are avaliable.Although I have just tasted seven of them.
Ease of cooking:- Just add 400 ml of water boil it in pan add noodles stir for 2 min add seasoning and serve.Even a 5th grade student can cook it himself. So, they are really INSTANT.
Health & Noodles:- Many doctors advocate that they are unhealthy. Even I agree with the same notion but with stringent laws for food processing industry in place & laws framed .The industry has adopted a safe approach towards health conscious consumers. Each packet of Koka noodles mentions clearly that it is free of MSG(MONO SODIUM GLUTAMATE) a artifically flavouring agent commonly known by the name of AJINOMOTO and is extensively used in chinese food.
FREE OF PRESERVATIVES.
FREE OF ARTIFICIAL FLAVOURING AGENTS.
FREE OF TRANS FATS(non essential fatty acids)
Taste:-Putting a fork into the bowl of steaming hot noodles & swallowing it into the mouth gave me instant pleasure & gratification. Some flavours do take time to get use to but all in all the smell n consistency of the noodles along with the seasoning do make it a wholesome meal.
Verdict:- I would strongly recommend these noodles to everyone for the sheer pleasure of tasting the varied flavours of the sea food, which a person living in the interior of our country can only dream of.They are a good source of energy and made in a country which is a global hub of international trade. One of the best regulated market in the world.Cheap chinese substitutes should be discarded as they contain many artificial colours & preservatives which can do harm to the body.Example of which can be seen in CHINESE MILK SCAM leading to death of babies.
