I am currently pursuing my bachelors degree from this city. I have been here since the last four years. And I love being here. It’s clearly one of the best cities in India. The people here are excessively sweet and you’ll always feel at home. It has a lot of history attached to it , being the ex-capital of British India before they shifted to Delhi. Victory memorial and writer’s buikding are some of the renascents of the colonial era in the city.
There are tons of places one can visit such as Science city, Alipore Zoo, Birla Planetarium, Indian Museum, Princep Ghat, Birla Mandir, Dakshineshwar Temple, Kalighat Temple, Eden Gardens, Nicco Park, Eco Park, etc. There are also two beaches some kilometres from here namely Digha and Mandarmani. One can also travel to Sundarbans or Shantiniketan from here. Apart from all these fantastic places to visit, you would also fall in love with the Bengali cuisine. I especially like the sweets here. Be it rasogolla, sandes or sor bhaja.they are all awesome ! Everyone is welcome to spend some time in Kolkata. It’s highly recommended. : -)
