The Singapore Komalas Restaurant is considered a second home to the Tamilians in Singapore.
Komalas became an instant hit when it first opened at Nungambakkam near Palmgrove. Now, a second outlet has come up at Radhakrishanan Salai near AVM Rajeswari Kalyana Mandapam.
The fare is standard. You get the usual south indian, north indian, indo-chinese and the indo-western stuff.
The food is very tasty. The Value Meals and Kids Meals are really worth the price. Their daily specials are also good.
Traditional favourites like Sambar Idly, Idiyappam, Masal Dosai etc. are the best here.
Though it is not very expensive, considering the price charged, the portion sizes can be icreased for pulavs and side dishes.
The Juke Box and childrens play areas are innovative concepts and deserve appreciation.
On the whole, Komalas is a good place to unwind at weekends or go for special occassions. One should be ready to wait for this place is really crowded.
