This one is a relatively new restaurant in and around the Bhandup area in Central Mumbai. This place is mostly known for its seafood and Malavani specialties. Initially, I wasn’t really fond of the malwani stuff but then my girl is from Goa and is very much into this cuisine. One fine day, I happened to taste Prawns Kalasleli over here since she was persistent. After a little argument and stuff, I tasted the Prawns Kalasleli and Balooshi kabab. It was indeed one of the best kababs that I have had in a long time. So much so, that we have been here for quite a few times since then.
Priced reasonably, the cost for two people for a nice meal comes around INR 530. For the freshness of the fish and other non-veg stuff they serve here, I don’t think it could have been lesser. Also, their service is pretty fast as I have seen in many places where they take almost around half an hour to get your order and that’s somehow understood, given the complexity of the recipe. But here, they seem to be pretty fast and that is without any compromise on the taste front. What else could we ask for? Nowadays, every time we visit Mumbai, we make sure to be here at least once.
The only thing I look forward to be improved at Kokan Swad is the interior that looks too mediocre for someone to expect such quality.
