Hello guys, I have been to Kota as a student and I must admit a few things in this review which is basically true but student dont want to accept.
Basically, Kota has a plethora of educational coaching institutes from engineering to medical background. The city is divided into two parts by the river Chambal which bisects it into two distinct entities. One side is older city of Kota which has been existing from ages and other side is the newly developed city where you have student hub. The new city is built in such a way that it is just convenient enough for the coaching institutes to run the entire economy of that part of land. If you have a house in new city, you need nothing more than few extra rooms to earn plenty of money monthly. The rent is sky high for the smallest of spaces which many landlords apparently call room. There are literally hundreds of such rooms where a person can not walk if he wishes to do so. There is just enough place for one bed, an almirah and a table, mostly without chair set aginst the bed itself, just that. Even the Kitchens are parted into two if the length allows two beds, the slab becomes the table.
Such is the loot which is going on. The coaching institutes might have famed themselves for selections, but the truth is much beyond those high rankers. Every year, lakhs of students reach Kota in the name of studies out of which less than ten thousand go back happy. The rest, they jusy feel trapped by the fascinations available in the city and reach nowhere by the end of the year.
There are many thousands of cyber cafe which not only provide internet but also offer tv, a big chunk of movies from all kind of industries in America, India, China, Korea and any other if theres any left along with a hheadphone at a charge of 10₹ an hour. And not to mention, the computer games and television series compilations too. So, there is enough for a boy to spend an entire year in cafe without getting bored. Other than that, there are fast food centers, game parlours, movie halls too.
Most boys who are deperate for being in relationship would end up getting into one, given the fact that there are female student as many as there are male. There are hostels and pgs where boys would end up forming gangs and wasting their time doing nothing useful. Those who get into relationships would waste time and money on telephonic conversations round the clock, and also get into serious troubles if their intimacy turns into futile consequences.
To roam around for sight seeing, I could only name a big park beside the river chambel which is named Chambal Gardens. Even if you visit the place, you would only find numerous couples hanging around holding his others hand or sitting close to each other in desperation. There is not much to offer except the riverside view which has the nuclear powerplant of Rawatbhata on the other side.
People of Kota are money minded and dont care much other than that. Most landlords would not intervene with a child unless the rent is being paid on time. There are many spoilers which can easily turn around the life of a bright child upside down which the boy will not understand for next few years. Unfortunately, there are many such guys who have been faking their lives to live in Kota year after year for 4-5 consecutive years at times. They inspire many failures to do more fun and get a year in reprive from parents.
