I am a very unproud customer of the self declared Good Customer Service Bank called Kotak Mahindra Bank. I had a credit Card from Kotak Mahindra Bank, which I used for about 400 rupees. When walked into a branch of Kotak Mahindra Bank, a personal banked there(I will write name as am going in the bank now) told me that if I deposited cash, there will be some charges levied, but if I deposit cheque, I will not be charged anything. Luckily I had a cheque book in so I deposited cheque of requested amount. Now when I call the customer care, they say another 87 rupees is pending with them. I wanted to know for what are these pending. They told me that since I deposited the cheque in Kotak Mahindra Bank, there is a handling charge of 85 Rupees. Can you imagine! They want money for getting their own money back. Also I really did not understand why the personal banker could not deliver the right idea to me. When asked call centre as to how can I pay you without having extra charges, they told me if you drop the cheque in drop box, they wont charge me. Means that personal banker cheated on me and she could have easily told me to drop the cheque outside in the box instead of giving it to the bank! This is the first ever bank I have seen who takes money for getting their own money. Also the way these guys cheat is awesome.
Some days ago, these credit card guys imputed a wrong email address in their systems, Later when I called them they corrected it, But because of that I could not update my netbanking password and I had to travel all the way from Ahmedabad to Mumbai just to clear things, This is such a bad thing that due to their problems, I could not reset my password and neither of the bank branches could help me out. I would really urge you guys not to try this bank at all and quit if you have. I had a salary account with these guys but by the fear that these guys may steal my money under the pretext of some charges for keeping money with them, I am removing and closing all the relations with this bank.
