I, am holding a Silk savings account in Kotak Mahindra Bank. I have had enough of discrepancies with Kotak banking. Right from opening my account to obtaining a credit card to changing my name and address, Kotak Mahindra has been facing a lot of problems in helping me in my every request.
1) When I filled up the account opening form online, I was told that I will not be able to open the account as I stay in a chawl. If this is the case, why don’t you put a disclaimer on your website saying “PEOPLE STAYING IN THE CHAWL DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO KOTAK BANK”? I think that should be better than facing such an insult. I hope every Kotak account holder is a person staying in palaces. Do you understand the hurt a person goes through for such disgusting remarks of yours? I filled up the form and on the form there’s no where stated that I can’t open a savings account because I stay in a chawl.
2) When I applied for a credit card in Kotak Mahindra, my application was declined. I had no reason why. All I got to know that I don’t fulfill your criteria to own a credit card. Isn’t that wonderful, as I understand again it will be the same reason for not granting me the credit card as in point no 1.
3) I got married in the month of January and hence, my surname is changed. I sent an application on the 14 March, 2013 for the change of name and address. On 18 March, 2013 I received a mail stating “ Notification - Service Request No: : Fulfillment”. Today 20 March, 2013 when I call up the customer service and check with them about the same, I am being told that my request is not fulfilled as there are some discrepancies. My question is Why was this not been communicated to me. I will never refer Kotak Mahindra to any of my friends or relatives. This has been my most disgusting experience and frustrating experience with any of the bank ever. It doesn’t live up to the image that has been publicized in the market. I will rate it as the most disgusting bank ever in India.
