I was looking for opening a Zero Balance Account for some time, I went through various options and found the few like Axis, DBS, RBL and Kotak. When compared I actually found Kotaks RoI as well as other service listing much better than what the others had to offer. So I finalized I will open the zero balance account with Kotak.
On 11. Nov.18 I opened the Zero Balance 811 account through their web portal as the mobile app I downloaded continuously showed error and would not allow me to open the 811 account from mobile app. I expected a call from the customer service within 24 hours. However when I did not received any cal even after one week, I decided to visit their Nariman Point, Mumbai branch on 19 Nov, their the customer service represntative was nowhere. The guard on duty directed me to some other lady officer - who was helpful enough and she checked the data and told me that no such account opening entry was to be fund in their records. I gave her the mobile no, - no result. I showed her the sms received of kotak mentioning account opening. She did find some data, however she said the account has not yet been activated, thats the reason why she could not find it earlier. She said she is putting it on fast track and I shall hear within next 24 hours. After 3 days I called up their call center, 4 times - where I spoke to different agents - one was like - our main server is down so cannot process. One said I must have not completed the opening process correctly, Another one was least bothered and kept saying we are offering limited edition ranveer sing card with account so many people are applying, hence the delay. On 28th Nov I received a message that the agents have tried to contact me for KYC but I didnt respond, so I should call them back on the no mentioned, if I want to continue the services.
