I have been using Kotak Securities for more than 2 years now. I always do online trading, as I’m in total control of what is happening. I am mostly an investor, though sometimes I do trade as well.
Like:
Good Trading Platform, not the best, but still good.
Their desktop trading system [ KeatProX ] is decent.
Its easy to figure out all your transactions from the ledger.
Customer Service is decent
You get contract notes on time in your mail id
You can log in to their website to see if you owe them money
Well integrated with major Banks. ICICI, Axis, Citi etc.
Equity Portfolio Tracker on their website is pretty good and I use it a lot
You can track all your holdings
You can see the total profit or loss in your holdings
Even your realized profit, loss is visible
They give sectoral snapshots.
It gets automatically updated unlike free Portfolio Trackers
Overall its very well designed
Dislike:
Very High brokerages if you are a trader.
They charge high DP rates in the sell side of delivery trades.
Summary
Go for Kotak if you are an investor and dont mind paying a lil more brokerage.
If you are a trader, their brokerages will eat into your profit. I believe Geojit provides very good brokerage rates. And by looking at other reviews, they seem to be trustworthy.
