I went to Kerala last month and I visited most of the tourist spots around the Trivendram and Kochin.
The bus is available from Trivandrum Bus Stand they charge 16Rs for Trivandrum to Kovalam. Another option is to go to Kovalam is by Uber car or by Ola.
I can say the Kovalam beach is so beautiful and clean. I stay in a hotel on the kolam beach.
The night out experience with friends was just awesome.
The color of sand on the beach was black but in March the color of sand changes to gold sand.
The main attraction of Kovalam beach is the Light House at the Kovalam beach. The lighthouse can be seen from the beach. To reach light house it will take 5 minutes. In lighthouse have an elevator to reach the top. Remember lighthouse closes at 6 PM sharp.
The scenery view from the lighthouse is fabulous.
The hotels at Kovalam beach are slight costly and food too. I bought Half Chicken Biriyani For 300Rs.
In safety point of view, the guards are present on the beach all the times of tourist safety.
