I have been to kodaikanal on package trip from KPN Travels for 2nights &3days. The bus had some noise from the engine side so the drivers showed in their head office Salem on the way @ 2:00 am. The mechanic told nothing to worry and to replace the part in Palani, where the bus will be passing in the early morning. But the bus went breakdown passing Erode, just around 2 hours of drive, tobe precise 5:00am. From then the bus drivers tried to contact their head office but no response. I spoke to the Engineer around 5:45am, as the drivers could not able to give any answer. The engineer told he will send the mechanics right away. But an hour passed no info and when tried to call back him, the big time irresponsible officer dint even bothered to answer the call, also we tried from other numbers but no use.
We also tried to call the biggest irresponsible officer who is placed as GM, no answer from his mobile. Atlast the mechanics came just close to 8:00am and we left to Kodaikanal. After reaching Kodaikanal, we were placed in Royal Hotels, this place is a cleanless place. We have been told while booking that we will be staying in Deluxe Rooms, but the quality and cleanliness of the room way below the standards, for the amount we paid. The bed spread was torn, the pillow covers were with blood stains, the bathrooms were unclean and the room floor was pathetic. I wonder this review will make any affect to the KPN Travels, as they are grown company. If the mechanic would have done his job, we wouldn’t have face the breakdown, he neglected just because the laziness to work in the nights.
I think they don’t have any shifts to work for the mechanics. Things go wrong, but what is the role of this Engineer and the GM. We were shocked that this incident happened just around of 1 hour drive from the Head office, if this would have happen elsewhere, unimaginable.
