There is a clear message in krazzy 4 that is just screaming to be heard- how to we define the term crazy?Who are crazy? What right do we have to term someone else as mad?Does society just lock someone up just because he is different or just not following the norms?That forms the backbone of this little gem of a movie.Its not too crazy, not too wild, not too far fetched, just some good wholesome entertainment.
I am not going to go into the nitty gritty details of this movie cos the people who are reading this review probarly have seen this movie already or are gonna see it.
Among the 4 crazies whom I really didnt identify with is Irfan khan. His role is monkish (for those who know abt the superb Hollywood serial- Monk)he has his moments in the movie for sure but something was missing."I am the captain" and his cleanliness regime is funny. I liked the actress who played his wife.
I simply loved the other 3 crazies. Arshad warsi is superb, in his element and totally having fun in his really angry role. I loved it when he slaps the really rude father in law.
Rajpal yadav is endearing as his role as a man still living in the past with all the revolutionary leaders.His love for his country is infectious and who knows maybe if he inspires at least 1% of Indians to really love India, who knows what may happen?He is really this small dyanamo of energy.
Suresh menon is so so adorable. He is always eating and really just so sweet and innocent.He plays his dumb role well.
There were many reports of the film making fun of crazies and making them look bad. But after you see the movie, there is nothing of the sort in any way. All the characters are presented in a mature and logical way, their "illnesses" isnt a cheap way of drawing laughs. Tusshars kapoors role in Golmaal was definately more demeaning because I have never met any dumb person behave in that manner ever.
Dia mirza as usual looks heavenly and acts suitably well. When will the industry wake up to this heavenly creature? Just because she doesn’t drop her clothes at every opportunity that doesnt mean she is boring.
Now on to my absolute favourite, Juhi Chawla. I will be lying, if I said I watched the movie for the krazzy 4 or the item numbers or rakhi sawant or the music. Nah, I watched it only for Juhi Chawla.It isnt a role that streches her acting talent or satisfy’s a fans desire to see her on the big screen. Its a small role which is pivotal to the plot. She looks heavenly, I loved her in the pahari song, luminous, beautiful and content. She will be outstanding in her forthcoming Bhootnath for sure.
Rajat kapoor is chilling(i think he will make a great bond villian) and everyone else is fairly competent.
Much has been written about the music, whether its copied or authethic, its fairly enjoyable. Rakhi sawnt really knows how to shake her assets. The one rupaiya song is enjoyable on screen. Ore lakad is beautiful and it just makes you wanna fly and reach the sky.And I am definitely going with SRK’s item number, its stunning! Hrithik dances like a dream and looks great as usual.
This is a movie that wasn’t made with any pretensions, it just became big cos of its banner and ridiculous controversies. Its a sweet, simple movie thats meant to be enjoyed with friends and family. Its too bad that its been embroiled in some stupid controversy after another since it was gonna be released. If you are looking for shock value or over the top performances or vulgar humour, this isnt the movie to watch.
