After the big success of Hanuman, it was realized that desi animation movies could also become successful. And therefore, inspired by Hanuman, Krishna was made and according to me is better than Hanuman.
The story of the movie: It was a time on earth when evil King Kansa had spread destruction everywhere. In order to put an end to this, Lord Vishnu decided to take birth as Vasudev and Devakis son (i.e. Krishna).
Devaki was Kansas sister. Kansa celebrated the marriage of Devaki and Vasudev with great pomp. When the marriage ceremony was about to end, an aakashwani was heard that Devaki and Vasudevs eighth son would kill Kansa. Terrified by this, Kansa imprisoned Devaki and Vasudev and decided to kill all the sons of them.
Kansa killed all the sons of Devaki and Vasudev. When the eighth son was born, Lord Vishnu apperared and told Vasudev to take his new born son and keep him at Nand and Yashodhas place at Gokul. Vasudev did as he was told. Meanwhile, Kansa came to know that the eighth son is alive and therefore hired various demons and told them to kill Krishna. But baby Krishna fought and defeated each of them.
Meanwhile, Krishna grew up as a mischievous boy. He would spend the whole day playing flute melodiously, stealing makhan, bewitching gopis. The movie ends showing Krishna slaying the evil Kansa. Krishnas help in Mahabharat is not shown in the movie.
Krishna is highly successful in many ways. The 3D Animation used in the movie is superb, though it is not as nice as animation used in Hollywood movies like Ice Age, Shrek etc. Secondly, the movie does not bore even for a second and it would be liked by both children as well as adults.
But there are chances that the movie may not become successful. And the major reason for this is its release date. Animated movies are released only during the vacations, but Krishna is released at that time when examinations of children are going on. I really cant understand why the makers of Krishna did such an impatient act. What would had happened if they would had released the movies 2 weeks later, when the exams would get over?
The voice artists in the movie have done an extremely fine job. Rajendra Shivs music is perfect for the movie. Songs are also very enjoyable. Bappi-Tutuls background music suits the movie and keeps the viewers in high spirits.
Aman Khan gives a fantastic direction to this movie and makes the movie a nice entertainer.
Some of the nice scenes of the movie:
The scene where Vasudev goes to Nands place and keeps Krishna there.
The scene where Krishna fights with Kaliya and Trinavarat
The scene where Krishna saves the whole Vrindavan by lifting the Govardhan Parvat
The climax
On the whole, Krishna is a great family entertainer. It is a movie, which would be enjoyed by viewers of all ages. The release date is the only factor that may go against the movie. It is difficult to predict whether the movie would become a hit or flop. But please don’t miss it!
