Krrish takes the tried and tested path of a typical masala potboiler that we have come to associate the industry with. And, it does an extraordinary job of it.Whatever we might say, we are all suckers for the song-and-dance routine, and the larger-than-life characters that our movies portray. Krrish works on these aspects and appeals to our primitive brain.
Hrithik Roshan plays Krishna, the son of Rohit Mehra who befriended Jadoo in Koi Mil Gaya and acquired special powers from the extraterrestrial. His grandmother Rekha brings up Krishna, following the death of Rohit and his wife shortly after Krishna is born; keeping a watchful eye on young Krishna and the special powers that he inherited from his father.
Priyanka Chopra as Priya plays the romantic lead against Krishna. Naseeruddin Shah as Dr Siddhant Arya is the bad guy, the mad scientists who wants to rule the world.
Directorially, theres no denying that Rakesh Roshan is a fantastic technician and of late, an accomplished storyteller. Krrish is the most stylish film Bollywood has witnessed in 2006, but Krrish is not just style, but offers substance as well. The content of the film may come as a a surprise change for all those jaded Indian viewers who are still stuck in those saas bahu sagas!.
Rajesh Roshans music is another aspect that deserves browny points. Aao sunao, and Dil Na are already popular and when viewed with the story, the appeal is only enhanced
Cinematography is of international quality. Action is terrific and SFX beond the limit of words!!
Krrish clearly belongs to Hrithik Roshan. No two opinions on that! The actor ignites the screen with an authoritative performance. His look, his body, the effort that has gone into this performance is exemplary. This is without doubt his best performance so far!
Rekha emerges trumps yet again after KMG .Priyanka is excellent! Naseer is first-rate; his mean look gelling well with his character.
On the whole, Krrish has style and substance. At the box-office, the film is expected to collect 60 crores within first week breaking all the records !
