Krissh -A sequel 2 Koi mil gaya is 2 b released either on June 23rd or onJune 30th.Producer-Director Rakesh Roshan has a lot riding on the much-awaited "Krissh", his sequel to Koi...Mil Gaya". Made with a huge budget of about Rs.500 million, Roshan says the films special effects are like nothing seen before in India.
"If you liked the visual effects in Koi...Mil Gaya, youll find them far better in Krissh. I dont think audiences have seen anything like this in Hindi movies, " says the soft-spoken director.
The Starcast:
Hrithik Roshan as Krishna / Krrish
A child of nature, he has God given powers and none can beat the force of his fist.
If as the mentally challenged Rohit Mehra of Koi.. Mil Gaya, he had you in tears, as the dashing and darling super hero Krrish, Hrithik will have you on the edge of your seats. And even as youre moved by his emotional vulnerability, you will cheer yourself hoarse for his dare devil actions.
Priyanka Chopra as Priya
Pretty and pert, shes your typical big girl, who encounters a young man whom she never met before. Even when shes using him for her own selfish ends, theres a part of her which reacts to his innocence and honesty.
Priyankas inherent sweetness turns what could have been a grey role into a spirited portrayal of a confused girl, whose heart finally shows her the right way.
Naseeruddin Shah as Dr Siddhart Arya
Hes a brilliant scientist with a vision that can change the course of history. Who will stop him to achieve his goal?
Only a versatile actor like Nasseeruddin Shah could have brought so much finesse to the edginess, the quirky humor and viciousness of Dr Arya.
Rekha as Sonia Mehra
Continuing from Koi? Mil Gaya, if there she cared for a mentally challenged son, here she spreads her protective wings around her super gifted grandson. Strong enough to take a controversial decision regarding his upbringing, shes weak enough to let him go when love beckons.
Only Rekha could have essayed this role with so much warmth and dignity.
The Storyline:
Krishna (Hrithik Roshan) is born with magical powers - a legacy from his father, Rohit Mehra.
Free as a bird, he runs like the wind?
Like an eagle, he soars across rivers and mountain tops?
Grave as a lion, he conquers rugged rocks without fear?
Priya (Priyanka Chopra) comes into his life and becomes his world?
When she beckons him to Singapore, he follows?
Little realizing it is destiny that has summoned him?
Having sheltered him from the world, his grandmother Sonia Mehra (Rekha) reluctantly gives in to him?
And lets him follow his heart
In Singapore, Dr Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah), the megalomaniac scientist is on the verge to change the future forever?
Only one man stands between Dr Siddharth Arya and his destructive dreams?
Only one man has the power to block his ruthless ambitions...
Only one man?
Krishna must become KRRISH
Link between the both movies:
Rekha who was stunningly credibile as Hrithik Roshans mother in "Koi...Mil Gaya" returns in the sequel "Krissh" as his grandmother.
"Shes the only link between the two films, the only character from Koi...Mil Gaya who recurs in Krissh. Audiences will love her in the film, " Rakesh states.
Though Rekha plays the grand-mom, theres no overt aging involved.
"No, no. Rekha has just greyed her hair slightly, thats it. No more aging was required. After all Rekha played a young mother in Koi...Mil Gaya. So shes a young grandmother in Krissh
He refutes any parallels between "Krissh" and other films about super heroes like "Superman" or "Spiderman
"Superman, Spiderman, Hanuman... they have their own distinct identities.
Whats hot:
Krissh is like none of the above. There are no special effects for the stunts. Youll see Hrithik doing all the stunts on his own. We havent used any effects to show Hrithiks characters special powers. The film will be just one of its kind, where the hero with super-powers doesnt resemble any comic book heroes."
With the films whopping budget of about Rs.400-500 million, Rakesh Roshan has much at stake. The film is going to be released either on June 23 or on June 30.
The music is somewhat nice beggining with d love ballad"Ek tha ladka, Ek thi ladki deewani."
So far BOLLYWOOD has lagged behind Hollywood in terms of spectacle.
"Thats because we never have budgets of $100 million and $200 million for special effects like in King Kong and Superman. We cant play around with our visuals as much as them. But given the financial constraints, weve achieved quite a lot in Krissh. If you liked the visual effects in Koi...Mil Gaya, youll find them far better in Krissh, " Rakesh asserts.
As for his whopping Rs.400-500 million budget, he says: "Whatever Ive spent is visible on screen. I havent edited anything. I dont believe in over-shooting or bad planning. I make only one film every two-three years and I plan every detail in advance. Each location and its requirement are decided in advance. When I actually shoot Im relaxed."
About 60 percent of "Krissh" was shot in Singapore. The film apart from being largely shot in Singapore, also features action choreography by Tony Ching, who worked on "The Hero", "The House of Flying Daggers" and "Shaolin Soccer" and loads of visual effects, largely done in Chennai.
The shooting was finished in December and the special effect shots were in by April. Krissh will also b released in Tamil n Telgu.
Rakesh will be releasing some 800 prints of "Krissh"
Whats not:
Is it a bird? Is it Batman, Superman or Krissh? A bright poster idea copied from "Catwoman". A superhero with a cape with a skyscraper in the background. A song ripped off from Ricky Martin. "Dil Na Diya" goes "Un Dos Tres". The long-flowing black leather overcoat borrowed from "Matrix". Keanus probably glad he isnt coming back in it. A caped-crusader pose from "Batman Begins". Or "Anniyan"? These are only some of the snatches you observe from the few promos of Rakesh Roshans latest flick "Krissh",
Whats all this???The 1st preview shows d stunts of jumping over d buildings n in d next preview he jumps into romantic songs!!!!
So everyone now its upto u all 2 wait n watch this movie n find out whether its hot or its not...n see what it brings 4 us...
