Krrish takes off from where Koi Mil Gaya ended. Rohit Mehra marries with his fiancée (Preity Zinta) and the couple is blessed with a child, Krishna (Hrithik Roshan). He lives a normal life in the hills of northern India and is oblivious of his past and future
But everything is normal until he meets a beautiful girl known as Priya (Priyanka Chopra). While trying to save her life, he loses his heart to her. He follows her to Singapore, and it is here that he meets his real destination. He is destined to save the world; save it from the clutches of a wicked scientist Dr. Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah) who is in the process of controlling the world with his experiments.
The film starts off well, but the story comes to a screeching halt the moment Hrithik saves Priyanka . The sequence between them at this juncture are dull and boring, which is a glaring flaw from the writing point of view. The grip is clearly missing!
But the pace picks up gradually in the post-interval portions. And it gets all the more engrossing the moment Hrithik lands at Singapore. From thereon, right till the finale, Krrish goes higher and higher on the graph.
If Rakesh Roshan score as technicians - the film wears a Hollywoodish look all through - he does not deserve as many marks as writer. From the writing point of view, Naseeerudin looks more like a buffoon than a scientist!Even the dialogues are pedestrian at times and oft-repeated at places.
Despite the hiccups, Rakesh Roshan has handled most parts of this super hero story well. Every frame looks well worked upon and Hrithiks acting is worth noting.
Rajeshs music is terrific. chori chori and Dil Na are tunes that youd want to hum again and again. The impact of the music is elevated thanks to the lavish picturizations. Cinematography is award-worthy. The locales of Singapore and sfx enhance the impact to a major extent. Background music [Monty] makes a valuable contribution as well.
Hrithik delivers a knockout performance in the second half. The actor handles the his part with amazing maturity. Priyanka does not deliver. Her portions seem forced in the screenplay. Rekha is adequate.
Well , worth a watch!
