I would also like to report a harassment we faced from a government servant, who is a KSRTC driver of Bangalore depot. Me, my wife and child were ill-treated by one of the KSRTC drivers and we were not allowed to travel in an AIRAVATH bus yesterday, though we possessed valid return reservations.
The incident happened on yesterday while trying to board the Airavath bus at 22:30 from Bangalore to Pondicherry. There was a minor typing error on the number of my PAN Card . One character was missing on the ticket. This kind of corrections cannot be done on-line by the passenger, once the reservation process is complete. Though I had my PAN card and several other photo-IDs, they refused to verify my name or other details.
The driver did not let us inside the bus. He was drunk, very arrogant and misbehaved with us. The conductor stood as a silent spectator. It was obvious that they were expecting us to bribe them, but since we refused to do so, they left without us.
I strongly condemn the insane acts of a public servant and request an immediate resolution for the humiliation and financial loss we faced that day. This has been highlighted to KSRTC Traffic Controller and Lokayuktha, but the authorities don’t treat such issues seriously and I am not sure how to initiate further investigation into the issue.
