I have been travelling up and down to Bangalore from Chennai for the last 8 years. Travelled in almost all leading private bus operators( KPN, Sharma, ABTX, National etc). Every time, I traveled in omni operators, i get a uncomfortable experience.
Wayback in 2001, I had a oppurtunity to travel with Rajahamsa, KSRTC durring job hunting days because of financial constraint, from then on I become a loyal fan of KSRTC.
In any standards, these buses(which ply between Bangalore and Chennai) are the best. Unlike Tamilnadu state express buses, these buses are affordable, well cleaned and maintained. More to that, getting tickets to travel is very easy. Either their online portal or BangaloreONE counters are accessible across the city. I also traveled in their Volvo city buses.Cool. Nice to see and travel. They start at the right time, and reaches destination before time.no over speeding and unnecessary stop overs. Gurantees a safe travel and saftery to your luggage.
Another thing what I noticed is the Drivers and Conductors in these buses wear a clean uniform and shoes.(shoes may be because of their climate.but still it peps up their image). They are cordial too.
Recently they have also introduced Sleeper coaches, I havent travelled. Will try it next time.
On the whole, When I look and travel in KSRTC Volvo, I wonder why our Tamil nadu transport ministry is not taking lessons from them.Traveller Comfort and loyalty is important for any corporation to prosper.
When you visit Koyembedu Bus stand, you can see more queue for KSRTC than Tamil Nadu State Express Buses.
