KTM duke new 390 vs old 390

It was remarkable day in the history of Indian two wheelers industry when Bajaj launched the first generation 390 in India back 390. It was not the first time manufactured launched 390-400cc performance bike under the price tag of Rs.2 lakhs. Bajaj has launched all new 390 duke in the 2017 model with all new stunning looks. It looks sharper than the previous one.


Design


You can see the heavy visual updates in the bike as it gets completely new styling and some change in its frame as well. The 2017 duke received a revised frame bolted to the main frame. The bike shares a new style line that resembles with the Super Duke R. The sharpness level increases in the bike as compared to the previous duke. All headlamps, rear frame, graphics changes in the Duke 2017. Even the bike is paineted with the UV protected ray so that bike paint will last longer.


Features


The new low set split pattern LED headlamps looks more interesting than the regular one the previous model. The tail lamp is also a new and the LED turn indicators have also been revised along with their mountings. The new model also gets the coloured TFT instrument cluster. Some extra buttons giving on the left side gear to control the display and more funtional console.


Engine


Its heart the new generation duke comes with the same 373.3cc liquid cooled engine. However the 4valved motor gets the new side slung exhaust muffler along with some internal changes to make it compliant with the more stringent Euro 4 and BS4 emmision standards.


Cycles Parts


Let’s talk about the previous version. The 390 duke continues to sport the WP suspension setup comprising of 43mm upside-downfront forks and a monoshock at the rear. However the front forks are now open cartridge type with adjustable height providing the broad spectrum use. While the suspension remains unchanged at the rear the front movement has been reduced from 150mm to 142mm. The alloy wheels and the tyres remain untouched and still gets perfect with the new styling. Braking duties are handled by 230mm disc at rear and 320mm disc at front for better stopping like its predecessor.


Price


The new Duke 2017 model priced Rs2, 25, 750( ex showroom Delhi) . The upgraded specification perfectly justify the extra cost, however we will provide the clear word after riding the bike. So keep visiting this space for the ride review of the new 390 Duke.
