I own 3 bikes one of them is KTM RC 390.I bought this bike 1 month ago and feel regret my decision of buying it.
My brother uses this bike for city traveling and he always complains about the uncomfortable ride of the bike .
The bike is lightweight and sometimes loses stability, chassis of the bike is small and light which doesn’t boost your confidence while riding it.Due to high power to weight ratio bike accelerates quickly which gets uncomfortable sometimes which is threatening sometimes.I bought this bike cause my brother wanted it, but now after using it for a month he avoids taking the bike anywhere and it just sits in our garage.
The seat is really uncomfortable and pillion seat is even more uncomfortable.Footpegs are set far behind and lock you in strictly head down position.The bike is not comfortable for long journey cause of its sitting position.tank range is okay but mileage is not adequate for touring purpose.the bike uses Metzeler tires which have soft rubber compound and wear out in short time.The bike has irritating exhaust note.
The fuel tank is small and doesn’t offer long range.The bike cannot be used for touring because of the uncomfortable ride and no baggage loading space.The bike is made of fiber which is a problem if you meet with an accident as insurance doesn’t cover 100% on fiber parts and it doesn’t provide safety to the rider.The bike only looks appealing on road and has no practical use.This bike is meant for track cause it would be better performing on smooth tarmac than our everyday day roads.The bike has bad history to its name as many riders have died on this bike due to its less safety and high speeding issues.Rash driving is a common problem with KTM riders which causes accidents.Riders get too excited with the amount of power bike has and do not consider road conditions and traffic rule while riding.
I won’t suggest this machine to anyone looking for a practical bike and who wants comfortable ride cause this bike doesn’t have any of that quality.Built quality is decent.Go for some better options like bajaj dominar or Benelli.
