Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released in 1998 was the first of the ongoing eyecandy series.Everything was nice.People wore designer clothes, celebrated obscure college festivals and loved and married.The director was rookie Karan Johar and the stars were Shah Rukh, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee.My personal feeling is that the best part belongs to Rani.
Nevertheless, the story is thus.Rahul and Anjali are best friends in some utopian college.On friendship day, the principal’s daughter joins the college.She is pretty, has good dress sense and dances like a dream.Rahul falls for the girl.Meanwhile Anjali pines for Rahul.She leaves college due to personal reasons.Rahul marries the principal’s daughter.However, she expires during childbirth.Her daughter, named Anjali must help her papa find Anjali, his classmate, and then marry her.
Kajol and SRK perform well.Jatin-Lalit are okay.It is however Karan Johar who livens up proceedings with great, but somewhat predictable direction.Kajol, SRK and Rani as also KJ won Filmfares for this great film.
