Himachal`s Silver Valley

With the river Beas and its tributaries flowing through it, it`s called Himachal`s Silver valley. And when thr rays of the sun skim over the rushing waters-or on moonlight nights-the river and streams glow an iridescent silver. But the Kulu valley does not settle for silver alone. There is gold that lies scattered in the thick forests and nestles by the fronds of the high ferns. The high meadows are adorned by jewel-like flowers daisies and buttercups, anemones and edelweiss. Necklaces of gleaming pearls lie casually strung as blossoms in the apple orchads. There is something priceless about the smilies of its gentle people. Here is a treasure that does not have to be prised out of the earth. It is simply there for the taking.

Past the town of Mandi, past the high cliffs of the Larji gorge lies the gateway to the Kulu valley. This narrow fertile strand, into which so much of nature`s largesse has been poured, advanced from Aut and 80 Km. Later, comes to a spectaculsr stop at the Rohtang Pass. Kulu was once called Kulanthapitha-the end of the habitable world. It is a very good place to see. It is superb. I think that`s why its called a SILVER VALLEY... DON`T U THINK?
