Masti Reloaded...

Kya Kool Hai Hum is Ekta Kapoor’s take on impressing the current ’happening’ generation of movies which was started off with movies like ’Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai’ and ’Masti’.

I have been hearing mixed reactions from friends who watched the movie, some complaining that the movie has far too many double meaninged dialogues. So I just thought of sharing my opinion on this flick.

To start with, if you could not withstand Masti, stay away from KKHH. If Masti had lots of double meaning dialogues with trashy scenes, KKHH raises the genre with even more (toilet) humor. Infact unless you are a total dud, you will know what a dialogue means (there is NO double meaning...only one meaning which is more than just slapstick)!

I don’t want to spoil your experience by revealing scenes or the plot. Here are some of the dialogues just to give the tempo of the movie:

Ritesh: ’’Aai shappath, me kahich nahi kela. Me tar fakta kholun dila!’’

Tusshar: ’’Tum chadhne mein kaisi ho?’’

Anupam Kher (with hands in his pants): ’’Mere 2 balls mil gaye, teesra dhoond raha hun’’

Avtaar Gill (when asked what he is doing about his work for finding a suspect): ’’Hila raha hun’’

So you know what to expect... :-p

All the characters have acted their part well. Even though the movie seems to be made with Tusshar in mind, it is Esha Koppikar and Ritesh Deshmukh who steal most of the scenes.

Tusshar is (obviously) given the biggest role and he performs decently. His dialogue delivery is good and fits well to his role of an innocent character.

Esha really shines as a short tempered Marathi police inspector. She has handled all the scenes extremely well. She looks very pretty in most (may I say all) of the scenes. Especially the one in which she wears a saree...Oh man!!

Ritesh’s acting (as a wannabe Casanova) is amazing and he really steals all the scenes in which he is paired with Tusshar.

Neha Dhupia does not have a big role (she comes only after the first half), but she has handled her role of a psychiatrist pretty well.

Anupam Kher has done his job as a mad psychiatrist (Dr. Screwwallah) quite well. But his so called ’’3 balls theory’’ which sounds funny initially, is a recycled a bit too much in all his scenes. The end of the movie is extremely hilarious when Anupam Kher takes (or grabs?) all the credit for a job which he did NOT do! ;-)

Shoma Anand has done a role of suspicious wife and though she overacts most of the time, it suits the character perfectly!

I liked all the songs except the Rishie Rich Project, what a boring song and video! I was luckily not in theatre, so just forwarded it...

The video for the song ’’Jaago Na’’ is really funny when 3 ladies are trying really hard to seduce 3 guys (who don’t give any bhaav to them)! It has been picturised really well though some people may find the video a little explicit.

The song ’’Chaska’’ too is good, though the video is better. Needless to say it has Esha Koppikar (at her best) ;-)

I don’t have to define the genre of this movie (all the reviewers have done that already). If you are the types who liked Masti and American Pie I/II’s toilet humor and double meaning dialogues, you SHOULD watch this movie. Rest of the people, stay away from this movie!

Some may argue that the plot is far too unrealistic and/or senseless. But who the hell cares?

Finally, this is NOT the movie to watch with your parents. You will be calling for a big embarrassment!
