Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3, which is being promoted as India’s first porn-com, delivers nothing that’s not expected of it. There are cringe-worthy and offensive jokes, tasteless slapstick gags, shots of cleavage, women moaning and scratching themselves, throwing themselves at men, white foreign ones dancing in skimpy clothes and men with libido.
In the third installment of the sex comedy series, Masti alumnus Aftab Shivdasani replaces Riteish Deshmukh, once again proving that acting talent is the least important criterion for the film. The premise is inspired from The Birdcage, in which a young man tries to hide his family’s profession from his fiancé’s parents with hilarious consequences. Kyaa Kool Hain Hum has no such fun. Instead we get crass and cacophonous humour in the form of entertainment.
Micky(Krushna) is the desi Hugh Hefner running a porn movie company in Thailand. He calls his friends, Rocky(Shivdasani) and Kanhaiya(Kapoor), because he is in awe of their sexual prowess. A ridiculous scene in a pool involving a crow arrives to convince audiences. Soon Kanhaiya doesn’t want his girlfriend’s family to know that he makes a living starring in porn films shot in Thailand. The geographical setting is one of the few things that this film gets right.
