(I saw KSBKBT on the ’reviews wanted’ list, so I wrote, only to find out later that there’s already 100+ reviews on this topic, but now I dont want to delete this..)

Where should I start? hmm...
God only knows what was in Ekta Kapoor’s mind when she started this serial. And God only knows why its still on air and why people are still watching it!
God only knows whats so captivating about this mind numbing 30 whole minutes long torture!
Ogden Nash, in one his poems wrote : ’For some tortures are physical, and others are mental, but one that is both is dental’ Maybe he would have changed his mind after watching this one serial.
I truly wonder how EK managed to give a whole new meaning to the phrase ’serial killer’ .
For those who don’t know, the program is about a husband and wife and their family which is not equal to India’s cricket team in number, it could easily could comprise the cricket teams of every cricket playing nation in the world(don’t even bother trying to calculate!) this is all I could think of , when I tried to describe the program, because theres simply nothing worth mentioning!
See, theres the husband, the wife, the mother and father in laws, their brothers, their wives, their children, and their children, their friends, the husband’s father’s mother (who, defying all laws of nature, must be atleast 120 years of age! and looks sweet 60), and all the other thousands of people coming from different families who’m I dont even want to remember! And to think you make fun of Laloo and his team! How unfair!>(AND now I know where Karan Johar gets his inspiration from.)
Story? what story?. Whatever IS there is so utterly incomprehensible that delving into it can cause permanent brain damage hence I refrain from doing so. Stories usually take twists and turns, this one takes complete diversions and u-turns!
So what you have is : dead people being resurrected, odd villains cropping up from every nook and cranny, overnight fast forwards of 25 years, and characters remaining as young as ever. The ladies of the family move around wearing footlong high heels (!) and silk sarees worth so much that even Mrs Ambani wouldnt have touched one in her life. AND to top it all, they don those illegally expensive stuff while doing daily chores like cleaning n cooking.
These people live in a mansion. Oh sorry, I meant a castle!! I mean, where else can u accomodate a family of 300?
There’s got to be a wedding in the house every 3 days whose preparations can go on for well more than 1 month. The characters are absolutely absurd!They go around preaching ethics every other millisecond. Their sole aim in life is to give the person next to them, a large dose of moral science lessons! Now this drives me crazy!
I do not watch the serial but people in my propinquity(i learnt this word on MS today, it means proximity) do, so I happen to observe these characters’ antics.
(EXTREMELY IMPORTANT NEWS UPDATE: india lost to those @#$%^&*aussies! :(( Aus needed 11 runs in the last over but they won! Y ! Y did they have to win!! GRRR!!)
Even the acting isnt upto the mark. Its barely tolerable. These people can either have wooden fixed expressions pasted on their faces OR cry as if the Ganga is going to dry up and its their moral duty to fill it back up!
Basically its got no story and no logic. The so called modern 21st century women are depicted in a pathetic light as if they have no aim in their life and their only job is to cry!
They should leave that to us, we are bound to cry after surviving such a man made calamity!Disaster! Monstrosity! (I’m getting carried away here, sorry)
Only reasons I can think of, for the production of such a serial can be:
$ Kyunki Ekta Kapoor Has Gone Krazy!
$ Kyunki she has a notion that the Indian audience has got no grey matter up there
$ Kyunki her aim was to remove all (still) existing grey matter in us.
$ Kyunki her ambition was to be the most (un)wanted serial killer of all times.
anyways, I’ll stop now. I hope I have correctly analysed the serial, because this is the first time I have pondered over it for more than 3 minutes.
