L.D.COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING (L.D.C.E) is a premier institute in the area of engineering and is one of the most reputed college in the entire of Gujarat as well as India. It has already completed its 52 years of existence and during this long span, it has proved its gossamer quality by imparting the best of education and producing engineers who have earned a lot of fame through their works in Gujarat as well as India.
L.D.C.E was started by the generous donation of Rs.25, 00, 000($500, 000) along with 34 hectares of land in one of the most educational area of Ahmedabad called university campus by Mr.Lalbhai Dalpatbhai after whose name this college has been christened.
L.D.C.E offers great environment of studies and getting into this marvel institute requires great results in the 12th grade (science stream). The various engineering courses that L.D.C.E runs are basically divided into main two sections. One is the Bachelor Of Engineering (B.E) and the other is Master Of Engineering (M.E) . The other courses include part time M.E and the post diploma degree courses etc.
The B.E course is of 4 years but in the form of 8 semesters of 6 month each , the exam of which is conducted by GUJARAT UNIVERSITY , while the entry in M.E course is through the GATE entrance exam and is of 4 semesters i.e. 2 years.

There are 6 drawing halls which are well furnitured and illuminated as well as the space available is immense for the students to work satisfactorily. The hostel accommodations consists of 6 blocks of buildings each 3 storied and have 10 rooms in one floor. Also the canteen is a good one providing meals at reasonable rate to the students.
