L&T Medisure makes fake promises & rejects policy

Had my parents health insurance company with a leading insurance company and I decided to switch for L&T medisure policy, considering the brand reputation Larsen and Tourbo had and the network hospitals near my place.  When I contacted them for porting, and I told them about the BP and Diabetes my dad had and also clarified I haven’t made any claims with my previous insurer for 6 years(date of policy). Looks like they didn’t wanna let in people for porting, so they said this person can be accepted if I buy a new policy.


Considering the network hospitals near my locality, I wanted to go for it and accepted the proposal for new policy and made the payment. After which they said my parents would be going through medicals and informed extra fees for medial test around Rs 850. Doc who came to my house confirmed that the BP and sugar for my dad was normal(BP and Diab is quite normal at their age).


After that no response from them for a week. No soft / hard copy. no phone calls. When I call them back, they are not sure why but say that my dad’s policy was rejected due to BP and Diab which I myself had declared in pre existing condition!


Also they kept me under confusion for almost more than week to even confirm my mom’s policy who did not have any preexisting condition. Their customer service does not have any clear answers and only tells "we’ll arrange a callback". After all this the only positive experience with them was, they had a separate line for senior citizens and that is all!


If L&T had to deny based on that, they could’ve done that while I was buying the policy as I had already declared in preexisting and medicals was normal!


Guess they have tie-ups with this diagnostic centers and want to loot money from us. So, now they say policy amount minus some additional charge would be refunded but not sure when and I will get a call back for the same, L&T customer service states I’ll get a callback! Keeping my fingers crossed and I sure don’t want to keep on wasting my time in getting things done from them. My mom’s policy they say is accepted but still not sure about it!


If they were not so sure about what they were doing it was better if they had stuck with bricks and cements instead of looting and misleading people.
