I been to Flames at Le Meridien, Chennai last Saturday and I had the most awful time of my life in a disc. Right from the menu card which also features tea/coffee (I have never come across a disc with these offerings) to the empty dance floor with not a soul to shake a leg, it was pathetic.
I am a frequent visitor to Pasha, Dublin, Havana and the not so famous OPM. I have always had a good time dancing as the DJs here do churn out some lively music but Flames was the pitts.
And you know what, we had a famous Mr Wally as the DJ. Special night huh? No way..We had such awful numbers belted out by Wally Sir right from the start at 11 pm till 1 am that none of us dancers could even venture out to the floor.
Even inspite of me and also so many others requesting for some rocking music, none was put forth by our accomodating DJ. So we all departed from the place with so much sadness. Of course I did have a last word with the DJ and the management about this pathetic performance and vowed that we would never ever enter this place again which was encored by many other visitors.
Also the food was not that great and very expensive. The drinks were ok and even the dance floor is fine. If it cannot be put to better use very soon, Flames would really go up in flames very soon..
