A Yash raj film...is always special...This year though..they are having a tough time with their movies faltering badly and performing under expectedly at the critics and the box-office sections
Ta ra rum pum, though being a good product, was just an Above average.
Jhoom barabar jhoom was a sure shot flop..though being touted as "The film" of the year...
Chakde india made up for both as touching the Blockbuster mark...
and now all eyes on Aaja nachle...
The released "Laaga chunari mein daag-Journey of a woman" falters at the script department..A film, which could have been so much in details, is just made pass through..Though some scenes hit you as a bolt, but the overall effect is missing...courtesy.Story-screenplay...
The story makes us travel from Banaras to the high class Mumbai nights to Switzerland, Italy and back...to Banaras..The experience though..is not bad as all are criticizing LCMD..

Plight of the family
Rani moving to Mumbai and the hasles she faces
The first night with Harsh chaya
Rani slapping Harsh in his office and the dialogue then following "Nange bik jaoge to bhi meri kimat nahi chukapaoge"
The transformation into an escort(Costumes deserve special mention)
Konkana coming to know about Rani
The Rani-Abhishek scene in the climax..
These are the things which work in the film...especiall Rani’s first night and her transformation scenes are quite disturbing..Rani scores in making us feel for her..See the film, and then you would agree with me that she is No 1
The Abhishek bachchan track, the Kunal-Konkana track, the blackmailing track...all these dont work...They should not have added..and if added, should not have been strectched uneccesarrily by putting 2 songs in the film...they prove to be as a deterent...
Pradeep Sarkar(Director) fails the 2nd time...After the much impressice Parineeta..Pradeep ji, you can and deserve much more than this..
Then story is the killer here...just ending up the film..does not work nowadays..as the audience of today wants detaling...
Dialogues are wonderful...The ones said by Rani on the phone to Jaya are excellently penned.
Cinematography is excellend..expecially in the title track of the film..
Music is of mixed bag.But the Title track makes you sit up....
Rani Mukerji excels in making you get disturbed and then to cry for her most of the times...Her eyes deliver most of the times.
Konkana is not in form..I personally felt that..She was better in Omkara..still..she is good
Jaya bachchan is excellent as the troubled mother.
Abhishek bachchan impresses in the last scene
Evryone else is alright.
At the end, give LCMD a try..and I assure you..you will not regret..
