Fantabulous

Lagaan really is an incredible movie. I thought I wouldn’t have to spell it out as everyone I knows feels exactly the same way however reading a review riugth now made me want to talk about how I felt about the movie. Lets think about the movie again. Is it really a movie on cricket or is cricket the tool which Aamir used to bring forth the struggle so many millions of indians went through to free themselves from the domination of the ’’British Raj’’.

Read between the lines- what was the match about. Was it really a game or was it a battle for justice. Was it not a fight similiar to the real freedom struggle when non-violent Indians took on the trigger happy British? Look further and see the desperation and anguish which our country men went through to win the final battle. The cricket match is symbolic nothing more noithing less. And why not, in a country where cricket transcends all boundaries like nothing else why can’t it be the ultimate symbol of our fight for freedom and justice?

Back to the movie and your back to wonderland. The sets, the costumes and the performances were min-blowing. The attention to detail shown by Aamir was unbelieveable. The music was brilliant and really fit in with the movie. Everything seemed so in synch that once out of the hall you wanted to go back to the rustic wildernesses of the movie. Sometimes feelings can’t be expressed in words. This is one of those times.
