Now that the frenzy has settled down and the Oscar going to No mans land, it did hurt the Indian in me too. But despite that I thought Lagaan was made keeping the average indian moviegoer in mind with all the ingredients mixed in equal measures with an eye at the collections. It certainly made an enjoyable movie to watch, but not definitely a thought provoking one. Not surprising then..the Oscar for the best foreign language film fell in No mans land. Well lets not loose heart and move ahead. A suggestion to future film makers with an eye for the awards is to tackle sensitive indian issues from an international perspective and not limit simply to the Indian thinking. Remember the world today has become a much smaller place.
