Munnabahis Gandhigiri Rocks
Normally we have a prejudice that sequels of any movie do not impress more than the first one. But this time Vidhu Vinod Chopra has proved this prejudice false. Now a days the directors have become more and more experimenting about the movies. We have seen the number of movies having a messgae with them. Swades was made with good intentions but at some moments it sounds a bit preachy which was OK. Then came Rang de basanti telling about the youth turning into rebel for a cause. In the same series comes this movie.
The plot: The munna version 1 was trying to become a doctor and curing his patients with jaadu ki jhappi and positive attitude. Here he has the postitive attitude but we are missing the jaadu ki jhappi. This time munna does GandhiGiri rather than bhaiGiri. At no point of time the movie sound preaching, but it gives its meaasge in its own style. Munna again tells a lie about his occupation and this time a professor. But this time the story is altogether new. Munna again finds solutions to others problems with a big heart and falls in problem himself.
Performance: All the actors have been retained including the dhobis from the first part except munaas mother(Rohini Hatangini)/father(Sunil Datt)/Chikki(Gracy Singh). This type of character suits to Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Vaarsi. They are sucessful in creating the same magic of MunnBahi MBSS magic here again. This time we have Vidya Bala casting opposite to sanjay dutt. She is looking lovely again in this movie after parineeta. She has freshness, she has charm and still maintains simplicity. Boman Irani didnt get much to act about this time, but he is OK. Mr Gandhi (I dont know his name) has acted genuine. Diya Mirza also had nothing much in this movie. The movie is successful in the attempt catching users attention all the time.
Songs: This time its songs are not that good, but still suits pretty much to the scene requirements and good in that sense. Specially the song "Pal Pal" is pretty melodious.
Abstract: There ppl who dont like Gandhiji or his thoughts or both but I am sure they are going to like this movie. Thats because of its sheer simplicity and natural light smiles. Is it a serios movie well both yes and no, is it a comedy movie again both yes and no, but is it a good movie no doubt YES. Its a worth watch movie.
