Hi friends,
I m back with the movie review of Lage Raho Munnabhai which I happened to see last night. And I can tell you its one of the very few movies which keeps it memories with you long after it is over.
Full marks to the entire team of LRM for giving us a 100% original, novel concept, a terrific emotional yet entertaining saga with a message to carry without burdening us.
Plot:
The real hero of the movie is its plot. Getting the Munna - Circuit duo back on screen with the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi is indeed a master stroke from the conception stage itself.
Great work done.
The plot is laced with light moments in abundance that keep a smile on your face while the emotional sequences dont fail to bring a tear in your eyes. The message is also so well woven in the plot.. it doesnt seem forced and doesnt even feel overboard.
Also, the film did not seem to be "Inspired " by a hollywood or any other film for that matter, which is such a relief. Kudos to the entire team for a spellbinding effort.
Performances:
Lage Raho Munnabhai has some fantastic performances to talk of.
Sanjay Dutt fits the role of Munnabhai like fish to water. This role is tailormade for Sanju baba and you simply cannot imagine any other actor essaying the character as efficiently.
Arshad Warsi as Circuit is simply marvellous. His comic timing is perfect and he complements Sanjay Dutt in a fantastic manner.
In fact, the interactions between Munna and Circuit are the best parts of the movie.
Vidya Balan as the RJ is appropriate and she underplays her part beautifully. She looks beautiful and innocent.
Boman Irani as the builder Lucky Singh is great as ever. Irani is a fantastic actor with a lot of versatility and he proves it yet again.
Dilip Prabhavalkar as Mahatma Gandhi is suitable. He performs the difficult role pretty effortlessly.
Direction:
Rajkumar Hirani is a man to watch for. The expertise with which he has handled the emotional sequences in LRM are stupendous. And the best part lies in the perfection with which he has handled the comic scenes. Full marks to RH. Keep it up.
Music:
Music by Shantanu Moitra is adequate. Its easy on ears and tracks dont hinder the narrative.
Some tracks like Pal pal and AAne Char aane stand out in the album.
Overall, Lage Raho Munnabhai is a fantastic effort. A family entertainer in its true sense.
Go for it, as I m going to watch it again. It definitely has repeat value.
Comments most awaited.
