Enjoyable!

I was thinking of listening to this album for quite some time, although catched some of its songs on FM, I have not seen this movie, but heard quite a lot about it.

Vinod Rathod , it seems , has taken or obtained ‘licence” of singing Sanjay Dutt’s songs , that too Munna Bhai Style. But for sure Vinod’s voice suits Sanjay, it seems he(Sanjay) himself is singing the song, more or less like Sudesh Bhosle used to sing Amitabh Bachchan’s songs.Title song is good, lage raho munnabhai…it has a remix version also and this song has tapori lyrics for obvious reasons.

Samjho ho hi gayalooks like more or less like a conversation, singing conversation…between Vinod Rathod, Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi.Arshad sounds more funny in this song more than everyone else.

It seems Karunya’s name is misspelt here as Karuna, Indian Idol 2’s most deserved candidate who lost to Sandeep Acharya, got a good song to sing according to his voice…aane char aane…reminds of a song by Kishore Kumar and another song picturised on Jugal Hansraj(yeh jo thode se hain paise…very nice song) in ‘Papa kehte hain”.Karunya looks like short version of Abhishek Bachchan.Sudesh Berry looked even worst, he looked like plastic version of Amitabh Bachchan…anyway …Karunya’s singing style is more or less like Sonu Nigam, no wonder Sonu Nigam initially could not get away from Rafi’s singing style, all these singers try to emulate their icons.Even Mukesh spoiled his initial songs by singing in KL Saigal style.I wish and hope Karunya sings with his original voice in upcoming numbers! This song has also a remix version.

After jolly good songs, one romantic song…pal pal har pal…by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal. Its a peaceful song.Too much aired on FM these days!

Bande mein tha dum…Vande mataram…Obviously referring to Mahatma Gandhi …is sung beautifully by Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal and a certain Pranab Biswas. It has a instrumental version also.

All in all, it’s an enjoyable album.
