I write this review with utter disappointment due to deceiving staff at this hotel. After going thro’ other reviews and photos here(also in another travel portal), I had booked 4 bungalow suites at a premium price for 2 nights expecting that I would be staying with my family in the midst of coffee plantation.
But at the time of checkin, they allotted us rooms in the new Annexe block which is not at all among the coffee plantation. Those rooms were in an apartment type complex near the road with junk views from most of the rooms. This staff certainly appeared to be a person showing discriminating attitude towards our group of 10 adults(comprising 1 yr kid to 71 yr old).
No-where it was mentioned that bungalow suites are not in the midst of coffee plantation, but located only in the apartment block. So I feel cheated both by makemytrip and Lake forest hotel management. Infact i’d cancelled rooms at another premium hotel in yercaud for the same date just for staying in the midst of greenery.at this forest hotel.
But I ended up staying in a regular hotel type block. So in this hotel, do not pin hopes based on what you see at the time of online booking. It all comes down to what they feel like allotting you. Such a poor discriminating attitude among hotel staff. Room service is terribly slow and food is average. btw, Coffee tastes awful at this coffe plantation hotel. Water heater doesn’t work often.
Only positive is that it is closer to Yercaud lake and markets/restaurants. They have a dorm for drivers that can accommodate only 3 to 4 people Will be a great stay if you get any of the rooms in coffee plantation. Definitely not worth paying such a premium for staying in the annexe block. Instead, there are other better class hotels available in this price
I’ll not go to this hotel again to stay in that annexe block
