I went to the Lakme salon in Chembur for a haircut. I went there, firm in my mind and with a pictutre of the haircut I wanted. I had shoulder length hair and since the texture of my hair was rough after a lot of color treatments, I wanted it short(boycut) for the summer and to remove all the damaged hair. I had a picture of a model from the Lakme fashion week who had the hair cut that I desired. After talking to the stylist, she refused to do the style I requested. She insisted that my hair was thick and beautiful and that a lot of people desired to have the kind of hair and that I should get a layered cut. I kept insisting that I have tried all kinds of cuts and the boycut is what I wanted. She consulted with a fellow stylist and they both insisted that I shouldnt. I even talked to the supervisor and manged to get it cut short but not the length or style that I wanted.
When I first walked in I was told the hair cut was 300 rupees and wash was 150 rupees but I was charged 545 beacause I was apparently given a conditioner(in most places, a wash includes adding a conditioner too). So be careful. The stylist barely washed my hair. The minute my hair dryed I looked like I had an Afro cut. Even a cheap conditioner in the market makes your hair look softer that that.
Avoid the place if you can . they are not worth the money. Also the stylist look very unprofessional and some look like they have walked off the street and begun to cut hair. I thought that the name Lakme had value but dont be fooled by appearences and the name of the brand. You are better off going to a local stylist.
