Packaging:

The packaging of the Lakme Eyeconic Kajal is as appealing as its name is. It is a black and turquoise-blue cardboard packaging with a transparent plastic chamber, which gives us a glimpse of the actual product. The kajal itself comes in the form of a black pen with information printed on it with turquoise-blue. It is basically a twist up pen, which is very easily retractable. The entire mechanism of ‘twisting up and retracting back’ works smoothly. The whole thing is sleek and sturdy, while the cap of the pen also shuts firmly. All these make it a great choice for traveling. The twist up packaging saves us from sharpening the kohl from time to time, which eventually prevents product wastage. But as the same time, you may need to compromise with the thickness of your lines as it often fails to create a sharp, precise line.

My Take on Lakme Eyeconic Kajal – Black:

The first thing that impressed me was the smooth and to some extent creamy texture of the kajal. It is not at all powdery or crumbly, which is really a plus. Whether I apply it on my eyelids or water lines, it glides really well and I never need to tug or pull my under-eye skin. But being soft in nature, the tip of the kajal often breaks if the pressure becomes a little more than usual.

The pigmentation is great and you can’t find any grey undertone like some other similar products available in the market. It should be considered as deep black, not the deepest one though. You can get a good black shade from a single swipe, while 2-3 swipes can give you an intense black color. Another thing I noticed that the kohl takes only a couple of seconds to dry up and give a beautiful matte finish. So, if you want to flaunt a smokey eye look with this one, you have to smudge it within first 2-3 seconds.

Staying power of Lakme Eyeconic Black Kajal is really well. My eyelids are not that oily and it stays 8 to 10 hours easily on them. I was also quite surprised to see that it is ACTUALLY smudge and water-proof! Although it stays so long on the eyelids, it hardly smudges. I’ve even washed my face with water with the kajal on and it did not budge. Just awesome! However, it doesn’t stay well on my waterlines and starts smudging after 4 to 5 hours. But never mind! I’m happy to apply it on my eyelids.

Lakme Eyeconic Kajal - Black Review

The kajal is dermatologically tested and hence, I never experience any kind of stinging sensation, irritation or allergies during or after application. This is a bonus for me as my eyes are very much allergy-prone. Being smudge and water-proof, this kajal can’t be removed easily. You must use a good oil-based remover to take it off your eyes.
