Lal Toofan beer - made from Basmati Rice

Lal Toofan....nice name!!! ---which the company claims, comes from the sand storms of Rajasthan. This beer is brewed in UK by the Far East Beer Company in Oxfordshire. This is one of the beers which is very popular in Indian restaurants all over UK. The company also claims that it is the first basmati brewed beer in the world!!!! Now thats something.

I was new to the UK and had gone out with a few friends who had been here a while. Someone ordered a pint of Lal Toofan, which was served in a pint glass with the Lal Toofan logo on it. It looked great, so I asked my friend if I could have a sip.... it tasted even better. By the time we ordered food, I had already guzzled a couple of pints of the stuff. Needless to say, I might try something else once in a while, but my preferred choice still remains Lal Toofan.

Like already mentioned this beer is brewed from rice, which seems to give it a very smooth taste and texture. It also tastes better when its cold rather than chilled. So go ahead, have some pints of Lal Toofan with chicken tandoori, forget all your worries, but dont drink and drive.
